DESCRIPTIONIt is a 1/1 scale of the British L85A2 SA80 that is the standard rifle for the British armed forces who have used the SA80 in all conflicts since its debut in the early 1980s, including Northern Ireland, the Gulf War, Bosnia, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan and Iraq. Sometimes British forces have even used this model with fixed bayonets on occasions in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The L85 is a "bullpup" type of rifle, meaning it is a rifle where its action and magazine are located behind its trigger. The chief advantage of a "bullpup" rifle is that the weapon's length can be significantly shortened without decreasing the guns barrel length. This enables a "bullpup" rifle to be manoeuvred in compact locations and concealed more efficiently than a conventional weapon with a similar barrel length, and preserves the benefits of a longer barrel in muzzle velocity and accuracy while reducing the weapons weight.
With this bb gun version of the L85 SA80 you get an authentically depicted reproduction, that we often sell to air, sea and army cadets for them to practice with so when they get hold of the real thing they are a little more familiar with it.
All of the plastic furniture is in the same place as the real gun, and it's a 1:1 Scale model although it's a bit lighter than the real thing.
This model comes with a flip up iron sight and a short rail on the underside heat guard for attaching extra accessories to it.
In this package, (the A2 version) you also get some excellent extras to add to the gun, including and foregrip, flashlight and a scope, all of those parts fit on the guns rail system but can all be removed from the bb gun if you want to.
The rifle's magazine is removable, and the mag release is located in the same place as the real steel version.
The L85's magazine holds around 400 bb pellets. (This bb gun also comes with a small pack of bb pellets to get you going, but we recommend you don't use them and get some better ones when you get the gun.)
The performance of this spring powered gun is good, and with a manufacturer quoted performance of 400 fps its not lacking in the power department, on testing shots where accurate (comparable with some cheap snipers), as its single shot its not designed for skirmishes, but it is a good choice starter bb gun for target practice & offers excellent value, performance and build for a low-cost spring gun.
The bb gun comes in a factory finished two-tone blue/ and black colour so you won't need a UKARA membership to buy one from bbguns4less.co.uk.
This Vigor branded bb gun is a Spring rifle, so that means it's powered by a spring inside the rifle, and that must be cocked via the cocking lever on the side of the gun before each shot for it to work.
but as it is a spring powered rifle, It's economical to use and easily maintained as it requires no gas or batteries to work it.
If you're looking for a cheap airsoft bb rifle that's fun, reliable to use for target shooting or one that will also look great in your collection.
we also sell this BB gun without scope, foregrip and torch (that version is the L85A1 is a bit cheaper, and you can find it here.)
The new version of this gun comes in the light metallic blue colour and not the dark blue in the photo
